Being the good sort he is, John Terry has posted him PFA Player of the Year voting slip on Instagram so we can all have a shufty at his picks.

As you can see, unable to vote for Chelsea players what with being the club captain and all, Terry has plumped for Philippe Countinho as his POTY with Harry Kane getting the nod for YPOTY…

Now, we’re big fans of Countinho here on Pies (we happen to think he’s Liverpool’s best player by a gigajillion miles) but it’s a bit of a stretch to call his contribution POTY-worthy this season.

He’s been good in fits and starts, sure, but the twinkle-toed Brazilian has hardly enjoyed what we’d call a world-beating campaign.

There was that run of four or five genuinely devastating performances in February/March, those two wonder goals, and then it was back to dribs and drabs.

Oh well, what do we know about the price of goat’s cheese?

To be honest, we were stumped by a couple of the off-kilter picks on Terry’s slip.

That said, it’s nice to see Jose Fonte getting a bit of long-overdue recognition – the Southampton centre-half has been rock solid, again.

John Terry has the handwriting of a girl…

Chris, if not Coutinho then who would you have picked?

    • Chris says:

@Jimmy: Well, my pick would be Eden Hazard – though obviously Terry isn’t allowed to vote for a teammate.

In his situation, I’d definitely be more inclined to give Alexis Sanchez or David De Gea the nod.

  3. Degs says:

As Terry can’t choose Hazard (the league’s best player this season), then Coutinho is a fair enough choice.

can’t choose his own ones, so choose ones no one else will
