On the night that Anfield commemorated the 27th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster, the famous stadium hosted yet another incredible European night, with Liverpool producing an incredible 4-3 comeback win against Borussia Dortmund.

With the tie all-square after the first-leg in Germany, Dortmund stunned the home fans with two goals in the first nine minutes, courtesy of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (via a superb Marco Reus assist).

That quickfire brace looked to have killed tie, however a Divock Origi goal just after the break gave the Reds some hope. But Dortmund struck once again, from the superb Marco Reus, looked to have sealed the deal once again for Thomas Tuchel’s men.

However, strikes from Philippe Coutinho and Mamadou Sakho set up a thrilling finish, with Anfield rocking. And then, well into injury time, the winner came. Clever play from Daniel Sturridge set up James Milner, with the English midfielder crossing for Dejan Lovren to head home the dramatic winner. Not surprisingly, Anfield went utterly nuts…

Here’s the highlights…

The incredible win (5-4 on aggregate) sees Liverpool join Sevilla, Villarreal and Shakhtar Donetsk in the last four, with Jurgen Klopp now on the verge of finishing his first season in charge of the Reds with a trophy.

Still, the Red’s boss certainly isn’t counting his chickens, judging by his post-match interview, where he responds to Des Kelly’s question about potentially winning the competition with “Don’t ask me this s**t!” (at the end of the interview)…
