Jurgen Klopp remains on course to land a trophy in his first season with Liverpool after the Reds cruised to a 3-0 second leg win against Villarreal an Anfield on Thursday evening.

With a 1-0 first leg deficit to overcome, the Reds got off to a perfect start on the night, with Bruno Soriano putting through his own net.

Just after the hour-mark, Daniel Sturridge, who had been left out of the first leg in Spain, fired home from close range after excellent work from Roberto Firmino.

The visitors struggled to click throughout the game and things got even worse when, on 71 minutes, Victor Ruiz picked up a second yellow card.

A late goal from Adam Lallana was the icing on the cake as the Merseysiders booked their place in the final.

Liverpool will face another Spanish side in the final after Sevilla secured a 5-3 aggregate win, with Klopp and co. and the verge of a rather nice end to the season.
