Liverpool eased to a comfortable 2-0 win at St. Mary’s on Sunday, with Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah once again providing a razor-sharp cutting edge up front for the Reds.

Firmino opened the scoring against the struggling Saints after just six minutes, with Salah setting up the Brazilian after a howler from centre-half Wesley Hoedt.

Firmino and Salah would combine again just before the break courtesy of a slick one-two, with the Brazilian’s back-heeled return pass sublime.

While Liverpool jump over Tottenham into third place in the table, Mauricio Pellegrino’s struggling Southampton drop into the bottom three, with the pressure now firmly on the Argentine.
