As you may be aware, Liverpool went rampaging into the Champions League final thanks to a triumphant 4-2 defeat against Roma in the second leg of the semi-finals on Wednesday evening.
Liverpool also conspired to score the goal of the night, though it counted in Roma’s favour when, shortly after Sadio Mane’s opener, James Milner claimed a slapstick equaliser for the Italian side.
The own-goal came as Dejan Lovren punted a clearance into the midfielder’s breezeblock face at point-blank range, only for the ball to ricochet back into the Liverpool goal.
Thankfully, Milner was able to just about laugh off the gaffe – which can hardly be construed as his fault – in the aftermath…

Indeed, as well as his own-goal, Milner scored some impressive comedy points after the match, with his fantastically deadpan response to a question about partaking in a celebratory post-match glass of wine also garnering a chuckle or two…
Glass of red tonight, @JamesMilner?
"I might stretch myself to a Ribena!"
