As the hangover from Saturday’s nights Champions League final continues for Liverpool fans, one positive piece of news emerged surrounding main-man Mo Salah, who was forced off with injury on the big night after just half an hour of action.
The Egyptian found himself on the wrong end of a Judo challenge from everyone’s favourite shithouser, Sergio Ramos, with his shoulder bearing the brunt of the impact.
Walking off the pitch in tears, Salah’s place at the World Cup in a few weeks time was in serious jeopardy.
However, the 25-year-old winger has since Tweeted that he still hopes to be fit by the start of the finals in Russia, saying:
It was a very tough night, but I’m a fighter. Despite the odds, I’m confident that I’ll be in Russia to make you all proud. Your love and support will give me the strength I need.

The Egyptian FA also Tweeted a positive message about Salah…
Let’s hope Salah does indeed make it to Russia, as it would be shame for the 44-goal man to miss out.
As for Real Madrid full-back Dani Carvajal, who also saw his night cut short by a hamstring injury, he looks unlikely to be fit for Russia, joining the likes of Dani Alves, Laurent Koscielny and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who will all miss out.
