Liverpool wrapped up their summer adventures with one last friendly against Torino at Anfield on Tuesday evening, with the home side cantering to a fairly straightforward 3-1 victory on home soil.
The goals came from Roberto Firmino, Georginio Wijnaldum and Daniel Sturridge, but the most heart-warming, rousing cheer of the night came in the 73rd minute when Alisson came off to be replaced by Loris Karius.
After enduring a rough couple of months (exacerbated by a fairly error-strewn pre-season), the German goalkeeper was greeted like a returning hero by the Anfield crowd as he came bounding onto the pitch…
How lovely. Hopefully, that will have done Karius the power of good.
Everybody’s still got his back… for now, at least.
