Daniel Sturridge scored a stunning equaliser for Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, with the former Chelsea striker’s goal earning a point for the visitors.

The heavyweight clash saw the two unbeaten sides go head to head, with Maurizio Sarri’s re-energised Chelsea side eager to secure a home win.

The Blues started well and evetually took the lead on 25 minutes, the the in-form Eden Hazard latching on to a fine through ball from Mateo Kovacic before clinically firing past Alisson in the Liverpool goal.

While Hazard continues to dazzle under Sarri this season, Liverpool’s star man, Mohamed Salah, had another quiet game, with the Egyptian failing to make the most of a number of chances.

However, the Reds pushed for an equaliser and it eventually came late on, courtesy of sub Sturridge, who produced the most sublime of long-range finishes to finally break down the Blues.

That stunner, Sturridge’s 50th in the league for Liverpool, would earn Jurgen Klopp’s side a deserved share of the spoils after a fine encounter in west London.

Liverpool stay second on 19 points, with Chelsea, who look like genuine title contenders again, two points back in third.
