Roma 0-2 Manchester City – Champions League Group E – 10th December 2014

Manchester City produced a battling performance in the Olympic Stadium in Rome to make it through to the last 16 for the second season in a row.

Samir Nasri, with a superb strike on 60 minutes, and Pablo Zabaleta sealed the superb win for the Citizens who had to endure long periods of pressure from the hosts. Ex-Arsenal man Gervinho was a constant thorn in the side of a City back-four without captain Vincent Kompany.

Goalkeeper Joe Hart was forced into a number of superb saves while  Martin Demichelis made a vital goal-line clearance. However, the Citizens stood firm to secure a berth in the last 16 which only a few couple of matchdays ago, seemed highly unlikely.
