Leicester City 0-1 Manchester City – Premier League – 13th December 2014

Despite being without Sergio Aguero and then seeing Edin Dzeko injured in the warm-up, Manchester City still managed to se4cure a vital victory against Leicester which keep the Premier League champions just three points behind leaders Chelsea.

With youngster Angel Pozo starting up front, the Citizens struggled to find their best form with the Foxes coming close to scoring on a couple of occasions. However, in Frank Lampard, City have a player who knows where the goal is and just before half-time, the veteran fired home from a Samir Nasri pass. That goal saw Lamps draw level with Thierry Henry on 175 Premier League goals, the joint-fourth biggest haul of all-time. After the goal, the Citizens were comfortable, although a hamstring injury to captain Vincent Kompany will have somewhat soured the win for Manuel Pellegrini.

City stay within three points for league-leaders Chelsea while Nigel Pearson’s Foxes stay rooted to the bottom of the table.
