Manchester City 3-0 West Bromwich Albion – Premier League – 21st March 2015

The sending off of Gareth McAuley in the second minute (when it should have been Craig Dawson) pretty much ended this contest, with Man City running out comfortable 3-0 winners in the end.

Wilfried Bony, who had been fouled by Dawson prior to that red card mix-up opened his account for the Citizens on 27 minutes, producing a superb side-foot finish from inside the box. Fernando then made it 2-0 soon after after a horrible mix-up in the baggies’ box while a classy close-range flick from David Silva made it 3-0 late on in the second-half.

Down to 10 men after only two minutes, it’s no surprise that Tony Pulis’ men struggled to match their hosts, although Saido Berahino did miss a point-blank header late on.

Manuel Pellegrini will be delighted to see his side get back to winning ways after their defeat at Barcelona in midweek, with the Citizens at least temporarily closing the gap on Chelsea to three points. West Brom, on the other hand, are 13th.
