Manchester City extended their winning run to 17 Premier League games after another convincing victory, this time at home to struggling Bournemouth.

The Cherries did their best to frustrate City, but the league leaders would eventually make the breakthrough just before the half-hour mark.

Sergio Aguero was the scorer for the hosts, with the striker heading home his 100th home goal for the club.

In the second-half, in-form winger Raheem Sterling made it 2-0 after a clever assist from Aguero.

City were cruising now, and they eventually netted a third with Aguero scoring another header from a David Silva cross.

With that goal, City became the first Premier League side ever to hit triple figures for goals in a calendar year.

Late on, sub Danilo would score his first goal for City to round off yet another impressive display from Pep Guardiola’s side.

The win makes it 17 in a row for the Citizens who go 13 points clear at the top of the table, the biggest-ever gap between 1st and 2nd at Christmas in top-flight history.

As for Eddie Howe and Bournemouth, they now find themselves in 18th place, with much work to do in 2018.

“The Cherries did their best to frustrate City…”

How exactly did they do that? By keeping City from a 50-0 scoreline? It was a shitty game, with City dominating the entire match.
