Leroy Sané is facing a month out of action after the winger found himself on the wrong end of an appalling challenge from Joe Bennett during Manchester City’s 2-0 FA Cup win over Cardiff.
The incident came late in the first-half, when Sané raced up the pitch and towards the Cardiff penalty area, only for Bennett to catch the German start very high and very late.
Bennett only received a yellow for the challenge which saw Sané subbed off, but the German national team Twitter account were quick to have a pop at Cardiff on Twitter…
The 27-year-old Bennett would pick up a second yellow later on for a challenge on Brahim Diaz and the Cardiff man himself would take to Twitter to apologise for the challenge on Sané…
1. Just want to apologise to Leroy Sané for my tackle today. I tried to stop the counter attack and completely mistimed my attempt.

2. I didn’t mean to catch him like I did. I hope it’s nothing serious and he recovers quickly.

Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling would get the goals that put the Citizens through to the fifth round of the cup, but let’s hope Sané gets back to action sooner rather than later.
