Congratulations go to Man City, who lifted the first silverware of a potential quadruple-chasing season with victory over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup Final.

It took 120 goalless minutes and a penalty shoot-out for City to eventually settle the tie, but Raheem Sterling’s emphatic winning spot-kick (thumped in off the underside of the bar) was enough to seal the deal at Wembley.

It’s just a shame that Eden Hazard’s audacious, icy-veined Panenka counted for nothing (skip to the 0:43 mark)…

Chelsea played well, looking a darn sight more clued-up and motivated than in recent weeks, but a blazing (and rather stupid) row between Maurizio Sarri and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga soured their night right at the very end.

Who knows what the repercussions will be, but the sight of a 24-year-old goalkeeper feeling brazen enough to publicly overrule his manager is unlikely to go down well.

Whisper it, but the Blues might a small issue with undue player-power.
