Would you just look at Luis Antonio Valencia. Look upon his furrowed brow, his tear-swollen puppy dog eyes, his angry point, his confused scowl. Could you live with yourself knowing you’d inflicted that kind of misery upon a fellow human being?

There is a baggage handler at an airport somewhere in Ecuador who must now carry that burden, for Valencia had his expensive camera nicked from his luggage somewhere between Quito and Manchester after flying home to South America for his country’s World Cup Qualifiers.

Valencia tweeted:

“Yes! They rob you in your own country!”

“They won’t rob you anywhere else, these assholes that check your baggage in the airport robbed my camera.”

“I hope they use it well, these f**king fools. What a disgrace.”

“These fools checked my suitcases. They had already robbed me, they didn’t want to check the other. They wanted me out of there quickly. How awful.”

Sadly, this was the second time Valencia was robbed during his two weeks away, after the winger was left fuming at the ‘clown’ referee who saw fit to send him off for next to nothing against Uruguay in midweek.

It never rains…

Pfft he hasn’t been to South Africa often enough then. Our baggage handlers also pinch stuff from 90% o0f people! But anyway, why leave valuables in your suitcase? Keep them with you!! Bloody tourists!

  2. Baz says:

@Lady B, He went to Ecuador, his home country… in south AMERICA. Hardly a tourist

  3. Anonymous says:

@Baz Yes, I know, but if you’re a seasoned traveler, you should know not to leave valuables in your bags, no matter where you’re travelling, hence the “tourist” comment…

  4. Anonymous says:

@Baz, Lady B isn’t talking about Valencia she is talking about her own experiences in South Africa! Read posts properly before jumping to conclusions you moron!

    His expression never changes

Valencia should have known, and yes, a lot of people have their shit stolen. He is an even bigger target because footballers always carry expensive shit. And yes, a camera like that should not be checked in.
Btw, I am from Ecuador and have gone back to my homeland many times and from time to time your stuff ends up missing…aka stolen.

  7. Peter says:

Had my virginity stolen by a brazilian stewardess. Weird

@Anon # 4: But the article isn’t about anyone going to South AFRICA you twat. It’s about South America. So both you and Lady B are idiots. Get off Baz’s back. He’s the only one commenting who seems to be able to read!

  9. Josh says:

Am i the only one a little surprised that Valencia swore? It’s understandable in the circumstances, but for some reason the way that he very rarely changes his expression made me feel that he has no emotions. Weird, I know.

  10. Anon says:

Antonio Valencia fingers baggage handler’s asshole.

    Pass it on.

  11. Lady B says:

Whoo, ok, my original comment should probably have been worded differently. Yes, Valencia was in Ecuador, South America, and moaning about stuff nicked from luggage, but my comment was to say he’s not been to South Africa, where theft from baggage is a regular occurance. If you travel here, you DON’T leave valuables in your luggage, you take them on the plane with you. And the same should go for wherever you travel.

That kinda sucks for him. It must have been very infuriating.

It doesn’t matter that he can easily afford another camera without even blinking, it’s the knowledge that you are a national hero and some c*nt from your own country has robbed you.

    That must be sickening.

I hope he makes a formal complaint to the airport. Surely they have multiple cameras that will easily catch the thief?

I mean, if there’s one place you expect hardcore security it’s at an airport…
