Rumour No. 1: AC Milan are the latest club to start monitoring Joe Cole‘s situation at Chelsea. The England man’s contract negotiations are known to be stalling somewhat and a summer move away from The Bridge is potentially on the cards for Cole.

With a host of interested parties (including Tottenham and Manchester City) said to be following the proceedings, finding a new club shouldn’t be too much of a chore for the 28 year old winger.

Rumour No. 2: Reports have resurfaced that Manchester United are willing to shell out €12 million (roughly £10.5 million) to secure the services of Benfica’s 22 year old defender David Luiz in the summer.

The Best of the Rest: Portsmouth look set to lose Algerian midfielder Hassan Yebda as they cannot afford the £4 million needed to keep the Benfica man after his loan deal ends.

Bit of good(ish) news for Pompey though, it looks like they are in pole position to sign Shabani Nonda. The striker is a free agent after terminating his contract at Galatasaray in January. Every cloud and all that…

Barcelona, Stuttgart and Chelsea are all to lose out in the race to sign Weder Bremen’s German international Aaron Hunt, as it looks like the 23 year old forward is heading to Wolfsburg in the summer.

AC Milan’s Georgian centre back Kakha Kaladze is to join Russian champions Rubin Kazan in the summer for €9 million.

Sunderland manager Steve Bruce is still keen on bringing Salvador Cabanas to the club, should the striker make a full recovery. The Paraguayan forward was shot in the head last month.

Coventry have signed West Ham youngster Freddie Sears on loan until the end of the season.

Tottenham have allowed John Obika to join Millwall on a one month loan.
