Manchester United 1-0 Crystal Palace – Premier League – 8th November 2014
Manchester United moved up to sixth in the table after a hard-fought win at Old Trafford against a hard-working Crystal Palace side.
For long periods of the game, the Eagles asserted themselves and almost went ahead when United old-boy Frazier Campbell failed to make the most of a one-on-one chance with David De Gea. Everntually, however, the goal did come for the hosts when sub Juan Mata fired home on 67 minutes. The visitors kept pushing for an equaliser but in the end, Louis van Gaal’s side would secure a precious three points.
While United go sixth, Neil Warnock’s Palace find themselves just one place above the drop-zone (courtesy only of goal difference).
