Dave’s off on his jollies
In case you managed to miss it while you were darning your socks by candlelight last night, Real Sociedad have appointed David Moyes as their new head coach.
Moyes has signed an 18-month contract at the La Liga side up until the end of the 2015/16 season – with his first official match in charge being against Deportivo on 22nd November.

The job represents Moyes’ first tentative step back into management after his calamitous 10-month stint as Sir Alex Ferguson’s heir at Manchester United was aborted by the club in April.
The 51-year-old Scot replaces Jagoba Arrasate at Sociedad, who was released back into the wild earlier this month with los Erreala (who ended up in 7th spot last season) wallowing down in 15th place.
Good to see Moyes taking the Steve McClaren “far from the madding crowd” approach to edging back into the game.
Very sensible, no?
Mikel Arteta’s already gearing himself up for his January homecoming.
