Here’s one to get both Liverpool and Man Utd fans frothing at the mouth! During Wales’ fine 0-0 draw with Belgium on Sunday night, United midfielder Marouane Fellaini caught Joe Allen with a rather vicious elbow.

The dodgy challenge, which left the Reds’ star poleaxed and with a rather bloodied nose, saw Fellaini get away scot free, with not even a booking.

At first glance, it may look like an unfortunate accident, but the way the Belgian seems to almost follow through with his arm after the initial contact makes me doubt the player’s innocence. What do you think?

I think it’s more that in that split second he’s just pushing away the pressure on his arm (which is unfortunately caused by Joe Allen’s face).

What are you not seeing, go to spec savers, wish football had the same video has rugby!!

I think its more of a case of what else could fellaini do? He obviously has no footballing skill so when confronted with a superior opponent ( something that happens a lot when playing for madchester united) he leads with his skeleton elbow smash. Move on folks nothing new here.

He is about 3 feet taller than Allen, it’s hardly his fault that Allen is tiny

    Randy Orton version please?

No intent there at all. Merely a result of Allen being a dwarf and Fellaini being a giant.

  10. When will we get a referee or his supposed helpers on the line see Fellini for what he is, an evil bully on the field. Match after match he leads with his elbow but no one in authority sees what is happening or if they do they are cowards for not dealing with the offence. Joe Allen was the correct size for this excuse for a footballer, the smallest player on the pitch.

I think any sort of push with his right forearm is just an involuntary reaction to it coming in contact with something, as an above commenter noted. The key for me is that he brings up his left hand too, seemingly to stop Joe Allen’s forward motion (and NOT to inflict any further damage). Reckless perhaps, but not intentionally violent.

That s a bit of a joke , Allen cluttered into Fellini, never an elbow, who cares anyway. Scouse git !

  13. Marl says:

It’s a good job Fellaini doesn’t have a history of this sort of thing…
