In what might just be the most ‘Arsenal’ thing ever (other than the actual result, of course), police have confirmed that one arrest had to be made during Manchester United’s 2-1 victory at the Emirates on Saturday evening after one furious Arsenal fan took umbrage, downed his opera binoculars and folded away his antique Chinese hand fan just long enough to throw his glass of Beaujolais over several members of the United bench.

The flashpoint took place as United celebrated the opening goal of their 2-1 win and led to an angry exchange between some of the club’s substitutes and fans in the seats behind them.
Arsenal moved to identify the culprit, calling on the stewards in attendance and the CCTV footage, and they have promised to liaise with the Metropolitan Police and ban any individual whose guilt is proven.
The wine splashed some of the United personnel who were understandably not happy.
Frankly we’re not surprised the Met are coming down so heavily on the culprit: red wine’s a bloody nightmare to get out.
