Manchester United – Hull City – Premier League – 29th November 2014
Louis Van Gaal’s side strolled to victory at Old Trafford on Saturday against a Hull side which struggled to provide a threat to the hosts.
United were 2-0 up by the break, courtesy of a scrambled goal from Chris Smalling on 16 minutes followed by yet another Wayne Rooney goal just before the break. With Hull short of invention and the home side’s win was capped off by a superb Robin Van Persie goal just after the hour-mark, with the Dutchman responding to recent criticism with a rocket of a shot into the top corner of Allan McGregor’s goal.
United go fourth, a point ahead of West Ham, while Steve Bruce’s Tigers continue to drop down the table, now finding themselves just one place above the drop-zone.
