With Wayne Rooney and a small gaggle of other Manchester United players visiting Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital the other day, 12-year-old leukaemia patient Charlotte Jennings seized her chance to bag herself a few autographs.
However, stuck without any decent paper for the United players to daub their squiggles on, Charlotte used her head…quite literally.
Having lost her hair during treatment for her illness, she simply had Rooney, Ryan Giggs, Robin van Persie and Juan Mata to all sign her scalp!

Nine days later and the signatures are still etched across Charlotte’s head, with the brave little girl vowing that she’ll never wash the ink off.
“I’m a 12-year-old with a bald head,” she said. “Why not make the most of it?”
Apparently Charlotte used to go to all United’s home games with her dad, gran and older brother but has been unable to make it to Old Trafford since being diagnosed with a rare form of acute myeloid leukaemia back in January.
“The signatures are still on there and I am not sure if they will ever come off,” said Charlotte’s father, Paul.
“She was delighted to meet the players and they were all great.”
