Manchester United 3-1 Leicester City – Premier League – 31th January 2015
With a mouth-watering starting line-up that included Robin Van Persie, Radamel Falcao, Angel Di Maria, Wayne Rooney and Adnan Januzaj, Manchester strolled to victory at Old Trafford against bottom-side Leicester.
All three goals came in the first-half, with Van Persie firing home just before the half-hour mark before Falcao netted his fourth of the season for the Red Devils after Di Maria’s effort had been saved. The hosts’ third goal came just before the break, courtesy of Wes Morgan’s headed own-goal.
After the break, the Foxes once again struggled to threaten David De Gea’s goal although Marcin Wasilewsk did bag a late consolation goal on 80 minutes. However, Nigel Pearson’s strugglers were well beaten.
The Red Devils go thrid, a point ahead of Southampton, who play on Sunday. As for the Foxes, they stay two points behind 19th placed QPR.
