These two players could well find themselves in serious trouble with the footballing authorities after footage appeared to show the two eejits involved in saliva-lobbing stupidity.

Man Utd defender Jonny Evans starts the spitting nonsense before Newcastle hitman Papiss Cissé hits back with a close-range gob. Ridiculous. Although all these people saying that spitting is the worst thing a footballer can are being ridiculously over-the-top. I’d much rather have someone spit at me then launch a two-footed leg-breaking tackle in my direction.

I think this is a sexual thing. its called spit swappin.

  2. Jimbo Jones says:

Evans isn’t spitting as Cisse, he’s spitting on the ground. The camera doesn’t capture Cisse even spitting at all either. I’m a but sick of articles like this on WAATP and the sensationalism of innocuous incidents. A four sentence ‘story’ with a vine? You’re better than this! Well you used to be at least.

  3. Ryan says:

Two footed leg breaker is worse than spitting, which is also worse than biting.

  4. p says:

Jimbo, look at Evans’ neck before and after Cisse hugs him. you can clearly see the spit.

All in all though I agree with you. It is a bit of a non-story.

  5. TravisKOP says:

I agree. please spit before you end my career

  6. Jarren says:

Heaven forbid WAATP for covering this “non-story” that has been all over the major football websites / mainstream papers this last few days.

I agree with Alan, this whole “worst thing you can do on the field” thing which Phil Neville started is a bit silly.

Personally, I’d take a bucket of spit over the head or a nibble from Suarez than Ashley Barnes coming at me with studs up.
