Transfer Balls: Rounding up the day’s football tittle-tattle so you don’t have to…

Citizens Set For Triple Splurge On Sterling/Pogba/De Bruyne

Manchester City are set for a massive spending spree, according to the Mail. Free from the shackles of Financial Fair Play (what a waste of time that was), chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak is itching to splash the cash, with Paul Pogba, Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne all on the shopping list.

Those three players would cost in excess of £140million between them but would surely put City back on a level footing with Premier League champs Chelsea ahead of next season. Wolfsburg (and former Chelsea) schemer De Bruyne probably looks the most likely, but what a summer of megabucks splurges this could be!

Gunners Keeping Tabs On Casillas

The Evening Standard report that Arsenal are keeping an eye on Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas, in case their proposed move for Petr Cech fails to materialise. The Gunners have been sniffing around the Chelsea gloveman for quite a while now, but ahead of talks between the 33-year-old’s representatives and Chelsea, Arsenal are keeping their options open.

Apparently Man Utd are also keeping tabs on Cech, and if David Dea leaves for the Bernabeu, it may well be Spanish great Casillas who ends up at the Emirates.

Sadio The Mané Man For Munich

A slightly unexpected rumour, this. According to the Star, German juggernauts Bayern Munich are keen to snap up Southampton speedster Sadio Mané. The Senegalese attacker impressed in his first season in the Premier League, after moving from Red Bull Salzburg but Bayern are now keen to bring him back to the continent.

Mané’s 10 goals in 30 games helped to fire the Saints into the Europa League and he certainly does look like player capable of making the step up to a bigger club. Although whether Bayern will be the 23-year-old’s ultimate destination remains to be seen.

Higuain Headed For Arsenal

The Metro tell us that long-time target Gonzalo Higuain is finally set for a move to Arsenal. The ‘paper quotes former Napoli star Jose Alberti, who is “90% sure” Higuain will move to the Emirates.  Chelsea and Man Utd have also been eyeing a move for the former Real Madrid hitman, but maybe the Gunners will finally bag the 27-year-old French-born striker.

However, Alberti is renowned for his wayward transfer speculation, so may all amount to nowt in the end.

PSG Ponder Move For Ronaldo

Finishing on a nice big juicy one, ESPN report that PSG are planning a move for none other than Cristiano Ronaldo, albeit next summer. The rumour comes via French newspaper L’Equipe, who claim that the French giants will look to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic with the Portuguese superstar.

AC Milan are apparently eyeing a move for the great Zlatan which may open the way for a mega-bid by PSG next summer for Ronaldo. All very glamorous this, and all very vague.

The best/worst of the rest:

Lazio attacker Felipe Anderson has dismissed rumours of a move to Man Utd, Chelsea slap £73million price-tag on Thibaut Courtois to scare off Real Madrid and Tottenham want Burnley full-back Kieran Trippier.
