Transfer Balls: Rounding up the day’s football tittle-tattle so you don’t have to…

Schneiderlin Headed For Man Utd And Arsenal

The papers are awash with speculation over the future of Morgan Schneiderlin. It’s agreed that the Southampton midfielder is now definitely leaving St. Mary’s, however, the destination for the big Frenchman remains up in the air. The Times says that the 25-year-old is headed for Old Trafford. The Mail have the whole story, while Arsenal remain well in the hunt for the anchorman.

Available for £25million, Schneiderlin would definitely compliment both United and Arsenal’s midfield, although one wonders if the Gunners’ French connection will sway the deal.

Real Keen For Koscielny

With Sergio Ramos linked with a megabucks move to Manchester United, Real Madrid are apparently eyeing Laurent Koscielny. The Mirror reports that the La Liga giants want Arsenal defender Koscielny to replace the (apparently) departing Ramos.

Having blossomed into one of the Premier Lrague’s best defenders, Koscielny is surely a player Arsene Wenger will want to hold on to. Although, if the price is right, a deal can always be done.

Van Gaal Vies For Witsel

While all the talk is about Morgan Schneiderlin’s potential move to Old Trafford, the Metro tell us that Manchester United are also after Belgian midfielder Axel Witsel. The tough-tackling Zenit Saint Petersburg star had been linked with a move to Chelsea, but now the Red Devils are apparently eyeing the 26-year-old.

The Metro also names the Blues, Juventus, PSG and AC Milan as suitors for the Belgian international who is available for a whopping £53million, so handle this rumour with extreme caution.

Blues Bid For Baba

The Evening Standard claims that Chelsea are keen on Augsberg defender Baba Rahman. With Felipe Luis apparently pining for a move away from Stamford Bridge after failing to secure a regular starting berth, left-back Rahman is seen as an ideal replacement by Jose Mourinho.

Apparently both Arsenal and Manchester City are also interested in the £14.2million rated 20-year-old, although a move to the Blues seems most likely.

The best/worst of the rest:

Tottenham have a had an offer for Belgian winger Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco rebuffed by Monaco, Remy Cabella could be leaving Newcastle United for Marseille while Everton are closing in on a permanent deal for Gerard Deulofeu.
