Surprise surprise. After a summer spent fluttering his eyelashes at Manchester United across the smoky honky-tonk, Sergio Ramos has gone and signed a new long-term contract with Real Madrid.

A month or so after United first caught wind of Ramos’ apparent unhappiness at Real and promptly opened the bidding at £28.6million, the 29-year-old defender has put his squiggle on a new five-year deal at the Bernabeu, signing up until 2020.

Played like suckers, United. Absolute suckers.

It’s reported that the extension will bump up Ramos’s annual salary to €9million, which equates to approximately €175,000-a-week – roughly €2million less per annum than United were supposedly offering.

Real have even announced that they’re laying on a special signing ceremony for Ramos this afternoon, just to drill home the point.

Please don’t. I hope you are stuck with Smallling and Jones all season, it’s hilarious.

Haaaa!!! Uniteds title hopes!!! Good one stevo!

He was never signing for United. If he was, he’d have signed by now. As for the joker above, Jones hasn’t played this season and Smalling has actually been solid. Rojo to come back in also, and Blind is quite versatile in that CB role. Two wins out of two, no goals conceded. Some people are never happy.

I’d like to know how many of the players on Real and Barcelona are doping. Guys play 90 minutes and TONS of games a season and never seem tired. Definitely some EPO and HGH going on.

A lot of them dope. How many times do you see full backs make lung busting runs in the 93rd minute as if it is the 1st minute? And the Barca style relies on being incredibly fit and chasing all the time as does that of the Spanish national team.

In other news Fred got popped at Copa America for the same thing that Andre Santos, Deco and Carlos Alberto have been done for – a masking agent. But I am sure there is no problem in Brazil…

It seems obvious that as the financial rewards increase in sport the likelihood of doping does too. To pretend it is any other way would be naïve at best.
