There were troubling scenes during the early knockings of Manchester United’s Champions League group stage opener against PSV tonight when Luke Shaw went down and stayed down with a particularly horrific looking injury.
The extent of Shaw’s injury has yet to be ascertained, but several members of the medical staff attended to the United left-back on the pitch – the young defender being given gas and air as he lay prostrate on the pitch for what felt like over 10 minutes.
As can be seen in this graphic footage, it doesn’t look good for Shaw – in fact, it looks like a severely broken leg…
