Manchester United came from a goal down to secure a deserved 2-1 win at home to Wolfsburg on Wednesday night.

The home side went behind early on, when slack marking from full-back Antonio Valencia allowed Daniel Caligiuri too much space to fire home past David De Gea.

United came back into the game quickly, with Anthony Martial impressing once again up front.

The equaliser eventually came on 34 minutes, with Juan Mata converting a spot-kick after Caligiuri had handled in the box.

Louis van Gaal sent on Ashley Young for the second-half, with Valencia getting the hook.

The third and final goal of the game came on 53 minutes, with an exquisite flick from Mata setting up Chris Smalling, who fired home the winner.

The Red Devils continued to push for another goal, with both Wayne Rooney and Martial going close.

Sub Nicklas Bendtner went close himself late on.

However, Louis van Gaal’s side held on for a welcome three points which puts them back in a healthy position in Group B.
