Bayern Munich have reportedly had to make a point of asking Manchester United to stop bombarding them with email inquiries as to the availability of Thomas Muller.

United went in hard for Muller over the summer, with various press reports of a £71million bid being knocked back as the transfer window drew to a close.

However, even with the window shut, it seems that United’s vice-chairman Ed Woodward still hasn’t got the message.

Indeed, Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has now sort of semi-joked that he wishes United would stop spamming his inbox with requests to talk to Muller, who has scored 11 goals in 10 games for the Bavarian giants so far this season.

According to Bild’s chief football writer Christian Falk, Rummenigge said:

I told Woodward that I can’t switch of my email account, so he should stop sending offers for Thomas

Manchester United sound like the divorced deadbeat dad who just can’t accept it’s over.

They truly are the Kirk van Houten of the continental transfer market.

I am a huge Simpsons fan who felt like a true idiot after googling Kirk van Houten to find out who this Dutch footballer was that I didn’t know.

Maybe they can borrow a feeling?

I think eventually they’ll get Muller for a huge price. United is bigger than Bayern, even if today Bayern has a much better team. The Premier League is too attracting and soon United will compete for top titles again. I think we’ll see Muller in Manchester in 2 years time.

how does ManU sound like a divorced deadbeat dad when they were never married to thomas in the first place. i can’t blame them for trying to get one of the most efficient footballer of the present. müller’s teams win. that’s a fact. but i doubt he will leave bayern in his prime. plus id on’t think ManU will be the english numero uno the next few years.
