We’re still not convinced that the addition of Howard Webb to the BT Sport coverage has really worked, with the former Premier League referee’s sporadic, dull input rarely enlightening. However, after Manchester United’s Europa League clash with Liverpool on Thursday night, Webb got animated and really laid into Marouane Fellaini.

The United midfielder is no stranger to the ‘dark arts’ of the game, and against Liverpool, the Belgian was at it again, with his swinging elbows lucky not to earn him a red card. Here’s Webb’s blunt assessment…

And here’s a rather damning compilation of Fellaini’s (many) indiscretions during the game…

The 28-year-old Fellaini was once rated one of the best midfielders in the Premier League during his spell at Everton. However, since David Moyes took him to Old Trafford for a whopping £27.5m, his career seems to have stalled. One wonders if this will be his last season with United.
