Despite David Sullivan’s rather odd remarks concerning the delayed 8.30pm kick-off of West Ham’s final Boleyn Ground hurrah against Manchester United, video footage taken from inside the Red Devils’ team bus by a rather amused Jesse Lingard shows the visitors’ being pelted by bottles.
Surrounded by West Ham fans on the infamous Green Street, the United players were rather shocked to receive a very eighties welcome from the local fans, ahead of the last game at the Boleyn Ground. Although Lingard’s reaction is more one of bemusement than fear…

Speaking To Sky Sports before kick-off, United captain Wayne Rooney said:
It wasn’t nice. The coach got smashed up but we’re here now, so have to prepare for the game and go out and do our job.
I’m sure you’ll see the images. That’s not for me to say but I think it was disappointing. We know it’s a big game for West Ham. It’s a big night for them, leaving the stadium, but I’m sure West Ham as a club will be disappointed with what the fans have done.
Not a great start to what would turn out to be a fantastic night for West Ham, who said goodbye to their home ground with a thrilling 3-2 against the Red Devils.
Cor Blimey!
