France’s Premier League stars were instrumental in their team’s 3-1 friendly win over Italy in Bari on Thursday night, with Paul Pogba superbly setting up Manchester United club-mate Anthony Martial before Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud netted a very decent volley.

Martial’s goal, his first for the senior French side, came after a lovely through ball from Pogba.

Italy hit back through former  Southampton striker Graziano Pelle, before Giroud conjured up a fine left-footed volley to put Les Bleus back in front.

PSG’s Layvin Kurzawa made it 3-1 for Didier Deschamps’ charges in the second-half, after another Pogba assist, with the visitors holding on to that lead for the rest of the game.

Jose Mourinho will be doubt be hoping to see Martial bang them in for the Red Devils this season while the performance of Pogba is sure to have impressed the Man Utd boss.

As for Giroud, the pouting striker will need to keep impressing Arsene Wenger if he is to see off new-boy Lucas Perez and remain the Gunners’ no.1 choice striker.
