With Wayne Rooney condemned to the bench by Jose Mourinho, Manchester United produced a superb display against reigning champions Leicester on Saturday.
Paul Pogba finally got his first goal for the Red Devils in the 4-1 rout but while the hosts were reveling in the victory, Foxes’ striker Jamie Vardy was a rather vexed chap, aiming one particularly expletive tirade at referee Mike Dean.
After finding himself on the wrong end of a decision from the dome-headed Dean, Vardy shouted “What am I supposed to do, you f****** bald c***”. Poor old Mr Dean…
Vardy’s frustration was understandable as the England striker struggled to make any kind of impression on the game. Indeed, Foxes’ boss Claudio Ranieri hauled off his hitman at half-time (along with Riyad Mahrez), no doubt keeping one eye on his side’s midweek Champions League game against Porto.
Mourinho, on the other hand, will no doubt be hoping his side’s potent display, which also saw Chris Smalling,Juan Mata and Marcus Rashford find the back of the net, will shut up that army of pesky little Einsteins.
As for Dean, I bet he’s just thankful he isn’t Japanese as well.
