We’ve already seen mascots painted blue, Ashley Young fighting off alien hordes and Wayne Rooney suiting up and acting his arse off for the X-Men, and now Manchester United’s corporate tie-in with 20th Century Fox has produced yet another modern classic.

To help flog the new Assassin’s Creed movie, United have allowed Fox to plunder the club’s archive footage for a stirring trailer about blood and history and such like.

On the plus side, it’s narrated by Jeremy Irons…

We’re not entirely sure if there’s ever been a decent movie based on a computer game franchise (is Street Fighter really the best example of the medium?).

Frankly, it doesn’t look like Assassin’s Creed is going to be the one to buck the trend, with or without Jesse Lingard.
