Hull City produced a superb display at Old Trafford on Wednesday night, holding Man Utd to a goalless draw.

Star of the show for the Tigers was goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic, who produced a number of superb saves.

As expected, the hosts dominated possession, with both Zlatan Ibrahimobic and Paul Pogba thwarted superbly by Jakupovic in the first half.

Hull did threaten the United goal themselves, on occasion, with defender Harry Maguire going close.

After the break, United pushed for the opening goal, with Juan Mata seeing his close-range effort somehow saved by the inspired Hull ‘keeper.

Interestingly, Ibrahimovic was rather less complimentary about the Hull ‘keeper’s heroics, while having a pop at team-mate Mata.

He said, rather sourly:

Their goalkeeper made saves for the camera. The save off Mata was not a good save, it was a bad finish.

Late on, Marco Silva’s side has chances to win the game themselves.

Firstly, ex-Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic saw his effort come back off the frame of the United goal.

Then, Abel Hernandez failed to make the most of a good chance, firing weakly at David De Gea.

Ultimately, both sides would have to be satisfied with a share of the points, an outcome which will have pleased Silva far more than his compatriot Jose Mourinho.

United stay sixth, four points off a Champions League spot while Hull go 19th, four points away from safety.
