Holders Manchester United bounced back from their shock defeat to Huddersfield at the weekend, with the red Devils cruising into the last eight of the Carabao Cup after a comfortable 2-0 win away to Swansea City.

Jose Mourinho made a number of changes to the team which lost on Saturday, with youngsters Axel Tuanzebe and Scott McTominay getting rare starts.

However, it was one of the players involved against Huddersfield, Jesse Lingard, who was the star of the show for the Red Devils, netting both goals.

Lingard’s first goal came on 21 minutes, with the midfielder firing home after a clever back-heel from Marcus Rashford.

Swansea boss Paul Clement had made eight changes to his starting line-up, but the Swans struggled to threaten the United goal throughout the game.

On the hour-mark, United scored again, with Lingard heading in after a superb team move.

That goal sealed the deal for the visitors, who cruised to victory and into the quarter-finals of the competition.
