Man City have clinched the 2017/18 Premier League title thanks to a timely assist from their ever-obliging nextdoor neighbours.
After Pep Guardiola’s side bowled Tottenham aside on Saturday, Manchester United followed up by slumping to a pathetic 1-0 away defeat to rock bottom West Brom on Sunday that left City’s lead at the summit mathematically unassailable.
On a drab, drizzly afternoon at the Hawthorns, Manchester United produced a pallid performance to match as a single goal from Jay Rodriguez officially bumped Jose Mourinho’s lot out of the running.
This all coming one week after United played out of their skins to come roaring back from two goals down and beat City at the Etihad, thus simultaneously denying them of the honours.
Existence under Mourinho sure is odd.

Despite their unlikely win, the Baggies are still nine points adrift of safety with four matches (against Liverpool, Newcastle, Tottenham and Crystal Palace) left to play.
