Chelsea will face Manchester United in this season;s FA Cup final after the Blues secured a deserved 2-0 semi-final win over Southampton at Wembley on Sunday.
Saints stifled the west Londoners in the first-half, courtesy of a disciplined display.
However, just a minute after half-time, Chelsea made the breakthrough, courtesy of a superb goal from Olivier Giroud, who turned the Southampton defenders this way and that before poking home.
Eden Hazard provided the assist for that opening goal and the Belgian winger was superb throughout the clash.
Alvaro Morata would replace Giroud with 10 minutes to go and the Spaniard wrapped up the game for Blues late on, heading home from a Cesar Azpilicueta centre.
That goal was the seventh Morata strike this season to be set up by his fellow countryman.
Southampton striker Shane Long once again struggled to provide a cutting edge up front, although Charlie Austin did hit the post late on.
The game would end in a deserved 2-0 win for Chelsea, who will now face Manchester United in the final.
That mouthwatering clash will see rivals Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho go head to head in what should be a cracking game, with the Blues still able to finish off their disappointing season on a high.
As for Southampton side, they can now focus on getting themselves out of drop-zone, with Mark Hughes’ side currently a worrying four points from safety.
