You can’t dob your butcher. Here’s the round-up…

Rumour No. 1: Barcelona’s midfield maestro Xavi has warned Arsenal that they only have ‘Cesc Fabregas ‘on loan for another year’ and that it is only a matter of time before their captain returns home to the Camp Nou.

Xavi apparently told The Daily Express;

“We know where Cesc wants to be this coming season, but perhaps there is not enough time for Barcelona and Arsenal to agree a deal.

Arsenal need to understand they are only delaying the inevitable. If we don’t manage to get his signature this season then Arsenal only really have him on loan for a year – because there is nothing they can do to stop him joining next summer.”

Rumour No. 2: Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to rejoin the race to sign Werder Bremen’s Mesut Ozil, after missing out on signing the German international when he was a teenager at Schalke 04.

Ferguson is aware that Ozil only has a year left on his contract with Bremen and that the Bundesliga side are keen to cash in on his fine showing at the World Cup this summer, rather than watch one of their most highly-prized assets walk out of the club on a free transfer in a year’s time.

The Best of the Rest: Manchester City are in talks with Benfica over the signing of their £30-million-rated Brazilian midfielder Ramires.

City representatives are also in Italy to put the final touches on a £23 million deal to sign Mario Balotelli from Inter Milan, however Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has definitively ruled out a summer move to Eastlands – insisting he is happy to remain at the Camp Nou next season.

Chelsea have has a £17 million bid for Brazilian wonderkid Neymar rejected by Santos.

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho is understood to be eager to sign Chelsea centre-back Ricardo Carvalho, echoing the way in which he bought the Portuguese defender to Stamford Bridge from another of his former clubs Porto six years ago.

Arsenal have offered Fulham’s 37-year-old ‘keeper Mark Schwarzer a player/coach role at the club.

Liverpool will not sell David N’Gog for a penny under £6 million, which has ruled West Brom out of the race for the young French forward.

Wolfsburg have had a loan bid for Craig Bellamy turned down by Tottenham, however Spurs are considering letting Russian forward Roman Pavlyuchenko join Sporting Lisbon on a twelve-month deal.

Spurs are thought to be heading the pack of clubs chasing Real Madrid legend Raul, despite the veteran striker holding a series of talks with German side Schalke 04.

Birmingham City have lodged an €8 million bid for Monterrey’s Chilean forward Humberto Suazo.

West Ham are close to sealing the free transfer signing of former Lyon defender Francois Clerc but Tal Ben Haim‘s move to east London is in jeopardy after the Portsmouth centre-back failed a medical at Upton Park at the weekend.

Wigan have accepted a £1 million bid for Titus Bramble from Sunderland.

Wolves, West Ham, Blackburn and Newcastle are all chasing Zimbabwean striker Benjani, who is a free agent after being released by Manchester City last month.

I so want Arsenal to have to play barcascum in the champions league, I dont care if they win just kick the shit out of them

  2. pete says:

Put a sock in it Xavi, Cesc is at a better club than you are at the moment. Barcelona have gone right down in my estimation due to their handling of the Fabregas saga !!!!!!!!

  3. Thomas says:

If Barcelona put half of the energy into the Champions League last year as they are trying to recruit Cesc through the media now….Have fun on the bench Cesc. Talk about going from being a god in North London to a non-starter at Barca until Xavi/Inestia retires. Pique made the move back much easier and I bet ManU would have love to have him now with all the Vidic/Rio uncertainty.

  4. Barndoor Bendtner says:

ARSENAL MUST REPORT BARCA IMMEDIATELY. THEY ARE SO FAR PAST THE LINE IT IS UNBELIEVEABLE.
CESC WILL BE A HATE FIGURE IF HE HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH BARCA WHILE THEY ARE ACTING THIS WAY.

  5. PhilandoTorres says:

Xavi ‘told’ the Daily Express? Come on lads, don’t believe ANYTHING you read in the papers.

Obviously Barca have been piling undue pressure on Cesc, Wenger and the Arsenal board, but I have only actually seen or heard these words coming out of Barca mouths a few times. The rest have been reported in papers, from ‘sources’. And, as any journalist worth his or her salt will tell you – ‘sources’ is sometimes used to substitute the words ‘something we made up on a slow news day to sell papers.’

  6. Roopesh says:

Cesc should leave. Aresenal is a dump. Wenger is clueless, and they will not win any silverware yet again

  7. Deckard says:

Ozil is a wonderfully gifted player. SAF better utilise him properly, not some half assed placed on the left or right with fucking darren fletcher as attacking mid. or some shit like that. Ozil’s the creative hub, put him smack bang in the middle.

  8. Conor says:

Don’t rag on Wenger. He made me a lot of money. Just bet against his world cup and Champs League predictions, and you too can be a millionaire

  9. Deckard says:

And more, he predicted Van Persie would be WC top-scorer.

  10. Roopeshadouche says:

I am Roopesh’s brother from another mother. Wenger is a fantastic voyeur, who is easily one of the best 18 managers in the EPL. He has been thrown into a difficult bind trying to keep FAB in a place where he is not happy, the shower.
