Xavi and Iniesta The best midfield partnership on the planet. And the greatest of these is Iniesta (last night anyway).
Pep Guardiola Won the treble in his first season. If Carlsberg did a football team, it would be Barcelona.
Carles Puyol Was written off, but played a blinder. Shame about his play-acting though.
NOT
Alex Ferguson Got his tactics wrong. Chelsea showed how to play against Barca (i.e don’t), but United went gung-ho and paid the price.
Ryan Giggs Sadly past his best. Shouldn’t have started last night, and wouldn’t have but for Darren Fletcher’s suspension.
Nemanja Vidic A rare horror show, reminiscent of his display against Liverpool at Old Trafford. Flat-track bully anyone?

The play by play text commentator on soccernet.com described it perfectly…
“Puyol needs no invitation to hit the deck as Ronaldo challenges him in the air. That is an equal contest; girl on girl.”
    perfect…
