Gotta say this is a comprehensive victory for City’s new away kit. Very classy, especially the grandad collar. United’s, however, looks exactly like what it is: an unimaginative Nike template. Yawn.
Which one gets your vote?

One looks like old miner pajamas, the other like retro Star Trek uniforms. This is easily the worst year for kits in the history of the sport. Still waiting for an Aston Villa third kit with a hood and nipple holes.

  2. DG says:

probably the only thing Citeh wil win this year!

  3. Mr Bluesky says:

City’s kit looks class. Get Robinho, Adeybayor & Tevez in this, they’re going to terrorize anyones defence in the Premier League.

  4. Anonymous says:

Hate to admit it but City’s looks much better. Apart from that ridiculous eagle or cormorant or dodo or whatever it is…

  5. Anonymous says:

  11. D. Teacher says:

Typical Rag Supporter cannot even recognise a player from his own team!
    Ha ha Ha ha !
    City’s kit wins EASILY.
    P.S. Dhairya…Tick Tock.

  12. K says:

    D
when did that guy say he was a United fan? If he watched football, especially United, he would know who Evans is.
As for the kits… both are poor. Agree with the guy who said it’s the worst year for kits.

  13. kippax88 says:

city have the best 3 kits in football at the moment umbro have done an amazing job!
and the clock is tickin u rag cunts.

  14. ManCiteh says:

    United’s look’s like a cheap t-shirt.

  15. MCFC says:

I thought the gormless twat WAS Rooney?

  16. 3103 says:

Love the City top, especially the 3 stars, very continental looking.

  17. bitter munich turd says:

  19. City sucks tity.. says:

  20. City sucks tity.. says:

To be fair citys jersey they jus killed 5 players in that jersey..rip tevez, adebyor, carry, toure, santa cruz!!lol

  21. OT Red Ray says:

Bluesky, you’re living in the clouds mate. Class terrorizes and not the millions. City are a small club just the same.

  22. machine goooner funk says:

i agree the kits for all the teams are terrible this year. arsenal’s away kit looks like a college uniform, their third kit is ok, their home kit needs the white sleeves back and fast. west ham’s shiny r-tard creations are terrible. manure’s V looks ridiculous. cska london’s kit has breastplates and a zipper no more needs to be said. spuds kits look like they made changes just for change sake. the scousers seem to be the only team who’s kits aren’t objectionable in some way. but fuck the kits its not how you look but how you play

  23. Sampsonscfc says:

The City kit is a decent one.
What a shame that our town and city centre’s will be full of gloryhunting idiots wandering around in that vile Man U shirt this year. It look’s horrible and the people who buy it don’t know a thing about football and have no connection to Manchester.
Horrible plastic shirt for horrible plastic fans.

  24. nishant says:

bluejohn u dosent know anything abt football so just shut ur ass

  25. Anonymous says:

That happens to be one of the most promising centre backs there has been for a while. Future Northern Ireland Captain too.

  26. Grimesy says:

Oh dear – Nike use a cast off kit design from 2006 to come up with the Rags strip while Umbro make a custom, tailored kit similar to the effort they put into the England strip… one very clear winner!
Actually is that a big arrow pointing DOWN on the rags shirt??? Very appropriate!

  27. RedNaz says:

Hate to admit it but City’s looks much better. Our kit makes them look like a bunch of gypsies, which will look even worse with all the shiny metal they’ll collect by the end of the season.

  28. murphy1916 says:

I’m more concerned about what’s in the kit than what’s on it, and United win hands down. At the end of the day, they are both just black t-shirts with a bit of colour so who cares. Also, bluejohn you claim to watch football yet don’t know who Johnny Evans is even though he played in half of United’s games last season – you clearly do not watch a lot of football, United fan or not.

  29. ManUtd_Fan says:

man city are shit and their kit is shit… its simple

  30. BlueBoy says:

This is for the nob near the top… the eagle was featured on one of the early crests of Manchester… This being where our club is from… do you get the link – you clown.

  31. Paul Calf says:

Ha ha, we can’t even have a debate about shirts without it getting all heated and bitchy!!!
Seems to be happening more and more, city seem to be getting up yoonited’s noses a bit more than usual, you rags are GUTTED that we pose a threat, but instead of all this bickering lets cut the shit and all have a massive fight in picadilly gardens (nice and close to the train station for all you cockney contingents that will no doubt represent 80% of your attending fans)
    we’ll shit ’em!!!

  32. Wayne Rooney says:

small time club, small time kit, small time players, and the millions will be around for a small time, you will be down within 3 years!
paul calf, i think you’ll find a higher % of mancs support united…. and as for the fight? we’ll see who’s won the ‘fight’ in may…

  33. Wayne Rooney is a gormless rag cnut says:

lots of scared rags…don’t worry, you’ve still got darren fletcher and…

  34. Rincks says:

Love how this has turned in to a war of who’s going to win what, rather than the subject of the article. And who brought up the argument of who won what? A United fan.
    Rattled much?
City kit wins hands down, clean, classy, would prefer the old team badge, but what are ye going to do?
United’s whole arrangement of kits looks pretty naff this years, shame as last years was fairly nice. I like the Blue on this kit and their keeper kit, it reminds me of city’s Kappa laser blue era.

  35. NQDP says:

That “ridiculous dodo” is called Manchester Eagle and symbols Manchester’s connection with ancient Rome. It’s complimentary to Manchester Coat of Arms.
Also it was first used by your own club, Stretford united, in 58 cup final.
    Typical thick Mune.

  36. sean says:

Love the City kit, dont’ think much of the United one, but as I would never buy that, it doesn’t matter to me.
I didn’t know who that United player was either. I don’t watch United or have that much interest in them. I just watch City.

  37. CTID says:

A higher percentage of Mancs support United? Not sure where you are getting your facts from but they are clearly wrong!
Small club? Starting to sound like old corned beef features himself, that daft jock who’s in charge!
Feel sorry for you lot mate. Losing the plot…

  38. wayne rooney says:

at least we know whos in charge! an ex united legend is currently taking orders from above at citeh!

  39. Anonymous says:

Not the first gold diggers to wear that style of shirt I am sure.
I’ve lost count: how many more years to wait to be able to put another of those stars on the badge, 7?

  40. small time club says:

love the fact the citeh kit had UNITED on the front!!! fools!

  41. small time club says:

    *has, not had

  42. m19guvnor says:

how about man citys v man utds air disasters

  43. K says:

Actually, a higher percentage of Mancs DO support United.
United has one of the largest HOME FOLLOWINGS in England.
And just for the record berties, Stockport isn’t Manchester.
As for the ones bringing Munich into a debate about kits, real classy. Typical city.

  44. joemclean says:

citys is better united are just shiitin it coz were signing better players

  45. K says:

Joem – How are City better than United?
And all this crap about us ‘shitting it.’ No, we’re not shitting it.
We’ve actually always hated you lot, it’s nothing to do with the arabs :)

  46. brammy says:

the new citeh black shirt looks cool where as uniteds is for a fool yo

  47. brammy blue says:

Got to say citehs black top away looks cool, so please carnt compare uniteds tops for a fool

  48. serv says:

johny evans nearly a 12m barca playa

  49. Anonymous says:

a large portion of stockport is actualy in greater manchester (the part north of the river mersey) as is salford 10/10 for geography pal

  50. SKYBLUE33 says:

CITY’S BLACK KIT IS OK, APART FROM THE BUTTON DOWN FRONT, WHY !!!!! JUST KEEP IT SIMPLE…………
AS FOR UNITED, I MUST ADMIT IT IS A POOR LOOKING KIT THIS SEASON, THEIR AWAY KIT LOOKS LIKE THE OLD ST HELENS RUGBY LEAUGE HOME STRIP…. LOOKS LOKE EVERYTHING’S GOING WRONG FOR THEM. HA !! HA !!
CITY ARE NOW RISING UP AGAIN , JUST LIKE WE DOMINATED IN THE 70’S, I KNOW WE CAN’T COMPARE TO WHAT YOU RED F****** HAVE ACHEIVED YET, BUT THIS IS THE START OF YOUR DECLINE, AND THE START OF OUR UPRISE .
SO FACE UP TO IT YOU SAD RAG B******* !!!!!!!!!!
WHY DO YOU THINK YER TOP PLAYERS ARE LEAVIN’
NO ONE WANTS TO PLAY FOR THAT JIMMY DURANTI NOSED SCOTTISH C*** ANYMORE.
BRING ON THE DERBY…… I CAN SEE YER CRUMBLIN ALREADY. HA !! HA !!

  51. shiv says:

bluejohn its tom cleverly standin behind rooney

  52. Niko says:

I think United’s looks nice and simple, and unlike most kits this year isn’t massively retro despite what Nike may have been saying about that V shape. Not too keen on the collar of the other one, but pretty solid otherwise.
Off the topic of the article and onto the topic of the flamewar in the comments, it’s amazing how overconfidently Man City fans are acting. So some new players have come in this summer, and they’ll likely get better results than last year, but that’s not saying much. If this kind of investment had gone into Everton or Villa the top four would be as concerned as some people here are hoping they already are. At the moment, there’s potential, but there was last year with Elano, Ireland, Jo and Robinho. That team didn’t even make it to Europe, and the current one can’t beat some fairly mediocre pre-season opponents.
Football is a results business. Feel free to brag when you have some.

  53. squig's says:

Come on give city a break. they wil do better this year. (i hope!) mite win the league but they wil shake things up a bit. wish them all the best. CITY! LOL.
    nice shirt too
