Retro Snapshot: Man Utd’s ‘Class Of ’92’ – Then And Now

By Chris Wright

Compare and contrast…

Save the official United pyjamas, Beck’s ink sleeves, Nicky Butt’s cue-ball, the Fergie/Ed Harrison switch and the total omission of little Terry Cooke on the end, it’s surprising how little has actually changed over the years.

Beautiful. My favorite bit of this photo is Scholes. 19 years later and he cracks a smile this time!

lol, Terry Cooke was supposed to be the next best thing in football!! What did happen to him to end up in Azerbaijan??
That so isnt a class of 92′ photo if the first picture you published last week with the same heading is anything to go by……! They all look older than that last pic…..!

Fergie’s a great man. An old family friend, always been good for a chat, even if you’re not for Man Utd!

It isn’t Alex Ferguson in the first picture…

Look at the initials on the top. It’s actually Elex Herguson. Some people call him by his nickname though – Eric Harrison.

Even Chris Wright (author) got it wrong…

    Excerpt from Wiki:-
“Dissatisfied with the number of players coming through the United youth system, Ferguson called a meeting with Harrison to discuss potential improvements. Harrison pointed out that he had already made Norman Whiteside and a couple of others into first team players, but Ferguson argued that this was still not enough. Harrison retorted “Right, we’ll do a deal. You get me better-quality players, and I’ll get you more youngsters in the first team.”[3] Ferguson agreed and set about increasing the club’s scouting network two-or-threefold.”

The rest they say, is history!

I’d have a semi if I was behind beckham.
