Bolton’s Kevin Davies: Tom Cleverley Has Told Me To Forget Tackle

What a fine, upstanding young man Kevin Davies is. Following the injury to Manchester United’s Tom Cleverley on Saturday, in which the Bolton man was “involved”, Davies made sure he cleared the air with the young United starlet.

He also made sure we know he cleared the air, saying: “It was a respectful thing to do for a fellow professional.” Presumably he was talking here about contacting Cleverley after the game and not subjecting him to a terrible tackle.

“Someone contacted me and told me he had a suspected fracture,” Davies explained to the Beeb. “So just out of courtesy, I sent him a long text saying I’ve not seen (a video of) the tackle and hoping it was nothing too serious.”

“He rang me back within minutes and said ‘don’t worry about it, ” continued the burly striker. ” ‘I’ve seen it back, it was just an unfortunate coming together’ and I had a good chat with him. I wished him luck and for me it’s finished.”

Good on Cleverley for forgiving and forgetting, but the fact remains, Davies is no angel and his challenge on the young Red Devil was dangerous.  Surely the respectful thing to do to a fellow professional would be to not break his foot with a needless challenge in the first place?

Davies is a dirty tackler and scumbag. seems to be on track to have the highest number of fouls in the EPL AGAIN. what a stat to be proud of. douche.

    Ah yes, Kevin Davies.

Once future potential Sex God understudy apprentice material but, as of yet, has not lived up to that potential.

Kevin Davies has to be the most average, one dimensional striker ever to grace the top flight. Awful goal to games ratio where ever he has been bar Southampton and even they flogged him pretty quick. How he has lasted so long playing at a high level i will never know.

So what, Big Kev makes a few bad challenges, as a BWFC fan I’m first to admit that, and I hope Cleverly is fit asap, ’cause he is a good player. But what gets me is United are so quick to complain about us when Evans last season put our best player our for a season with a ‘full blooded challenge,’ and spent years defending Paul Scholes and his ‘sometimes-clumsy-but-no-malice-intended challenges.

    SUPER KEVIN DAVIES!

Kevin davies is effective at what he does: winning the long ball and being a pest to the defense. He wins free kicks for his team in dangerous positions. Just because he has a poor goals to games ratio doesn’t make him a bad player. How Emile Heskey has so many caps when Kevin Davies does the same thing but better is beyond me. He kept Bolton up for a couple of years there too.

Yes, Kevin Davies is an a$$ but ManU never ‘manned’ up over breaking Holton’s leg either. Seems fair is fair to Davies and I’m almost OK with it.
