As part of a segment on grassroots football for the BBC’s The One Show, Robbie Savage spent his weekend disguising himself using a prosthetic mask, a stick-on beard and a scraggy old wig in order to turn out for Bradley Park FC, a Sunday League side based in Wrexham for whom Savage used to play as a lad.

Despite obviously being Savage in a lumpy latex mask, we’re seeing subtle shades of Martin Castrogiovanni there – y’know, should he contract a wasting disease in the near future.
After turning up at the Bradley Park changing rooms at 6:30am to have his disguise applied, Savage then played under the pseudonym “Sam” for the entire game, with his side going on to lose 6-3 against opponents Turf FC – though the 39-year-old former Welsh international did manage to stick away a rather nice free-kick as a consolation…
Not bad.
