With endless hours to fill, Sky Sports unveiled a new high end gizmo to allow pundits Jamie Carragher and Andy Cole to pick apart Chelsea’s offside goal against Cardiff City in microscopic detail.
Whereas a simple replay was enough for us all to see that Cesar Azpilicueta was a mile off, Sky had Carragher don a headset and enter a virtual reality to really get down to the bones of it.
The result was, in plain terms, absolutely inane…

What with this and the ‘De Gea internal head cam‘ we were treated to a few weeks ago, Sky are really upping the ante when it comes to fatuous VR nonsense. This is where your subscription money is going, folks.
And if you’re thinking these graphics look familiar, it’s because they were lifted directly from Actua Soccer 2 (Playstation, 1997)…
Cutting edge stuff.
