The chaps on the Guardian’s excellent Football Weekly podcast alerted me to this save by the oft-maligned Valdes, and since I hadn’t seen it, I hunted it down on YouTube, especially for you. It’s certainly a fine double save, although not quite in the same league as Jim Montgomery’s famous effort for Sunderland in the 1973 FA Cup final.

Best double-save ever is Gregory Coupet for Lyon vs. Barca. See : http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=DT24RsL03Q0&mode=related&search=

Yes, but Victor looks 10 times better than the other 2 while doing it. That’s gotta count for something.

Blah, why you always gotta over look MLS, I think the game FC Dallas vs. Columbus was one of the best saves I have ever seen by a goalkeeper, It was Burses first start and he parried a volley and then leaped like a freaking lion to claw the header away it was something amazing.

Still gotta love Jussi’s double against Man Yoo. It was bravery, far better than Valdes’ effort.
