ian%20holloway%20poppycock.JPGIn his battle to be more crazy than Stephen Ireland, Plymouth boss Ian Holloway has resorted to using words that were eccentric 50 years ago. Ollie managed to slip the word ‘poppycock’ into an interview in which he dismissed speculation linking him with the Leicester City manager’s post.
He said: “Ask anybody who knows me how I feel about Plymouth Argyle and they’ll tell you the truth. If you need me to say it again, I’m in love with the place. It’s absolutely magnificent. Ask my players who I’m trying to talk into staying here how I feel about Plymouth Argyle. I think they’ll tell you the truth. It’s all poppycock, if I’m allowed to use that word. It’s absolutely pathetic.”
We presume it’s the rumours that are pathetic, rather than the word poppycock. It could catch on, you know!

I hate to correct but, speaking as an American who has seen many Brits on television, I can tell you that all of you say “Poppycock” quite often.

As a Brit I’m inclined to agree with above yank.

Had a giggle when I saw my flatmate had an industrial sized tub of the stuff in the pantry. Definately cycling it into my vocabulary now that Ollie’s used it.
