I remember this World Cup, primarily because it was in the States and it was the first one I was old enough to remember and watch. It made a lot of Yanks my age ‘soccer’ fans, for sure. Those US jerseys were so bad, though–what were they thinking? Gotta bring back the “Don’t Tread on Me” jerseys; the best I’ve seen in a long time

Hehe. Nice pic. Yeah, ’94 got the ball rolling for me, too. Before then I thought that only girls played soccer :) I still didn’t completely get how deadly serious the game was considered in other parts until the rather unfortunate ultimate outcome of this game.
And yes, the jerseys were ugly at the time and continue to get worse with age. If ugly were a wine, these jerseys would be Chateau Margaux.
