095441779802lzzzzzzz Well, Argyle fans, things certainly won’t be dull under new manager Ian Holloway. I’m an Argyle fan and I’m made up that he’s our new boss, ’cause he’s the most charismatic manager in the league, no contest.

Hollers has already managed to wangle a pre-season friendly against Real Madrid. Blimey! The game takes place on 21 July at the Franz Fekete Stadium in Kapfenberg, Austria, and I reckon quite a few Pilgrims will make the journey to the game. The friendly was arranged after Argyle agreed to let
Madrid use a training camp in Austria that had already been booked up
by the Pilgrims.

Holloway is understandably excited by the prospect of
facing the nine-times European champions: ‘It will be an education for
our lot,’ he said. ‘Whatever side they put out, they will have some
really
good players. It’s a fantastic opportunity for my players… We will get
amongst them [that’s the spirit!] and it will be something that my lads will never forget.’

UPDATE: A Devon-based reader (who happens to be the dad of a good friend of mine) points out that Michael Foot is still very much alive – I must have dreamt that he had passed away. Oops. Sorry Michael.

  1. The piemans dad who lives near Plymouth says:

Shame on the editor – the same man who lived in South Devon. Michael Foot is well and truly alive and attends most Argyle home gaames.

  2. Ollie, Editor says:

Shame indeed! I must have dreamt the passing of dear old Michael. Ooops.
